“L'avenir de l'homme est la femme.”

‘Le Fou d’Elsa’, Louis Aragon

This series consists of color photographs made in the studio. It is a series of portraits of women in a red setting. Each images bears reference to women as portrayed in classical painting, mainly with mythological characters as a subject. Each work has one reference as a title but may carry several in it. Iconographic elements from different eras and genres, from different masters and tendencies melt together around a contemporary model into a new image. It is staged photography, a fantasy world wherein every woman plays a typological part and yet remains herself.
